Welcome to Pack 711
Fun with a Purpose!
We’re excited to welcome you and your family to Scouting in Waterbury! Pack 711 is part of Scouting America (formerly BSA), and we’re committed to providing meaningful experiences that help youth grow in character, citizenship, and adventure—all while having fun with friends and family.
🗓 Meetings & Schedule
Pack Meetings – Once a month, all Scouts and families together. These include activities, recognition, and fun for the whole Pack.
Den Meetings – 1–2 times per month by grade level, scheduled based on families’ availability.
Locations – Most meetings are held at Brookside Primary School or Wesley UMC, with outdoor activities around town.
Special Events – Pinewood Derby, camp outs, service projects, hikes, and more!
👨👩👧👦 Family Involvement
Scouting is a family program—siblings are welcome at most activities. While parent leadership is encouraged, it’s not required. Many families help occasionally (snacks, supervising, organizing activities), and every bit makes a difference.
Interested in becoming a leader? Reach out to any of the current leaders and/or check out this page.
💵 Cost & Registration
Annual membership and insurance are set by the Green Mountain Council.
The Pack does not charge separate dues however we do ask for participation in fundraising as work to support the pack. On average we budget $220 for each youth to guide fundraising goals. Some activities may require a fee and will be communicated on a per activity basis, this includes Council Events like Autumn Adventure, Veterans’ Day Parade, and Summer Camps.
Financial assistance is available—Scouting should be accessible to every family. If funds are the blocker please let a leader know and we will work with you to find a solution!
🌱 A Year of Growth
This year, Pack 711 is expecting to grow quickly as more families join. With growth may come some changes and growing pains—meeting times or locations may shift, and we’ll be figuring out the best fit for everyone.
We promise to:
Communicate openly and transparently about changes.
Always keep our focus on providing the best experience for youth and families.
Ask for your help—because making Pack 711 everything it can be takes a team effort.
